Hello all,
I have decided to keep an old barn/shed structure in my garden, but essentially add to it.... albeit inside it.
The outer structure (after ripping out the internal structure) has been found to be very robust, so I am not going to tear it down.
The plan is to build the new garden room inside the barn (obviously it will be wider), meaning that essentially part of the new garden room will already have a ready made roof, and ready made cladding on one full side, and two half sides.
I have attached a diagram to help explain this!
My question is related to the flat roof......
On the part of the roof that is outside the structure of the barn, I will put a warm roof..... but what should I do with the part that is inside the barn, or more specifically the part in purple in my diagram..... doing it as warm roof may be difficult due to access for putting the felt down once most of it is in place......
Does this make sense?
And if so can someone suggest whether the internal roof should perhaps be 'cold deck'?
Thanks,
