Hi guys

I'm boarding out my loft with new supporting floor,
I just wondered if anyone knows if there is anything I can do about moving or removing the cross beams in the roof (or find a way to work with them). I had assumed not but just thought I ask in case anyone had any ideas. I can't do a proper conversion with a window or anything like that as we are in a conservation area, but would like to make space a bit more useable. Pics attached please excuse all the crap! The diagonal down pieces all meet on a supporting wall.

Thank you

they look like collar ties.
used to stop the roof spreading at the ridge is you get wind uplift
are you in a windy area?

Im not sure if they provide any other restraint.
