A few issues have been raised on a house I am buying, could anyone offer any thoughts on what is involved, expensive jobs etc? It is a fairly low pitch stone slate roof on an old cottage...

There is condensation in the roof void area, to the underside of the roofing felt. The ventilation in the roof space is inadequate and should be improved to reduce the risk of condensation and damp.

A small number of slates are broken and have slipped out of place and should be replaced.
Is it a simple job just to replace a few slates or do you need to take lots off to get to the broken ones?

There is some moss accumulation to the roof covering and this should be removed.
Seems a controversial one having a quick read of the other post about moss on roofs :D

It doesn`t sound an awful lot my friend. If suitable vents can be sourced in your slate size then that will give ventilation. Is loft insulated? Check that out as it may have a bearing on condensation with your cold rafters ie no sarking board?

Maybe some vents in soffit as well. Yes remove the moss too. You will need quotes from slaters who can see the work hands on. Try and get firm quotations rather than estimates. This should not be a problem so press for it.
