Roof Moss

Hi All
I've just jet washed my roof and now have a wheelbarrow of moss.
No chemicals used, just blasted with water.
Any benefits for the garden or should I just dump it?
Probably also includes fine particles of my clay roof tiles.

I wouldn't dump it, I reckon it would make great compost.
Some exotic houseplants are grown specifically in moss to replicate their natural environment. Could use some of it for that.

Is the moss that grows on house rooves the same variety that is used in hanging baskets and for exotic house plants. I always thought they were completely different. I also would have thought that composting it would make it spread to anywhere the compost was used as unless you had a really hot compost heap you would not kill the spores off. I would love to know if I am correct or mistaken for future reference.

You will find moss growing in the places which have the right conditions for it, and it is generally very difficult to transplant - I wouldn't worry about the possibility of moss appearing where you've used it as compost.
