Hello,

Could anyone advise how much of an overhang we should have on our flat roof for our single storey rear extension? There is no issue with boundaries. It's a Southeast facing rear extension so we want to maximise sunlight, but protect the windows which span most of the 9m.

Thanks

With the recent high temperatures in July, you will find several threads on here about trying to keep buildings cool.
With that amount of glass you may want to consider a greater overhang, not for the protection of the building, but to reduce solar gain.
For example, a standard module from brise soleil uk, would extend 800mm for a window height of 2.1m.
But, I am no builder, so feel free to ignore! :)

It's a matter of design.
