We are planning a revamp of our roof terrace and we would like to have artificial grass framed with paving slabs, see attached plan.
I'd like the grass which has a pile height of 30mm to sit flush with the slabs. I am suggesting to the builder we use slab supports like this to achieve the look: http://www.wallbarn.com/adjustable-plastic-paving-support-pads/ but as for the grass in the middle how do you suggest we 1. support the grass and 2. would a lower profile slab work...maybe a bathroom tile and we simply sit the grass on the top?
OR
To achieve this we could use this product to cover the whole terrace and lay the grass directly on top of this:

then we could use low profile 25mm adjustable support pads for the slabs on the perimeter.
