My house was built in 92 and it has concrete roof tiles (not 100% sure, maybe clay). Recently when I cleared the gutter I found that the rain has washed out sand off the tiles (small particles with the same brown colour so must be from the tiles) and they ended up in the gutter.

If this happens all the time when it rains, my question is how long can roof tiles last? Apologies if my question sounds daft, but thanks for any reply.

Just loose granules from the tile surface by the sounds of it, it won't affect weathertightness of the roof at all, they'll last you a long time yet, the integrity will last long after the colour of the tile changes / fades.
