Hi folks, I need a supplier/merchant in the south London area that sells these tiles for a reasonable price, new or used, colour not important. I need a couple of hundred initially.
It's a charity job for an old biddy, so money is an issue.
No haste, no hurry, I can go and pick up "left overs" if it's not too far.

What is this model called officially? They're about 300 X 200 mm or 8 X12 in old money.

He means each course is staggered to half bond rather than ran straight in a line at watergates. Still think the comments a bit harsh seen as its usual practice to use half bond! You wouldnt run a marley modern roof bond on bond now would you?

To be perfectly honest, Colin, I have no idea. I worked as a roofer('s mate) for a bit, but it was a while ago to put it mildly. I know the basics of roofing, but I gained my limited knowledge/skill on the job. As I only worked with a couple of guys who probably weren't the best in the field, I am by no means a real roofer and don't know half of the correct terminology. I would have called this staggered in stead of half bond.

Shane is quite correct though in his view that it was a poor job. Apart from the wooden framework and the battens, there is nothing between the tiles and the ceiling of the rooms below. The heatloss from draft must be horrendous. It also must have leaked like hell because when I opened the loft hatch, I could see the sky in more than a dozen places.

That's how they should look, quite often these tiles pop up on ebay basically being given away.
