I've just submitted a Building Control application for a 14m2 rear Kitchen extension. It's got a 14 degree pitch (with a plywood deck + 2no. directly bonded layers of roof felt, therefore the 14 degree angle is allowable for an artificial slate fixing).
The roof is a simple lean to, 4.6m width x 3m depth/span. But Building Control want calculations of the roof, I can't just go ask a roof truss supplier can I because they would only do it if your gona get the truss from them wouldn't they ????? (cos I reckon once the builder knows the spec. of the roof he'll just go to the cheapest supplier he knows + not the guys I got the calculations off).
Is there some other way of getting the calculations, + if I had to go to a truss manufacturer how much would they charge????
