Can I hang a block n tackle from the garage roof truss to lift an engine or is it going to end in disaster?

It's a BMW 2.5 litre engine. Weight 130kg

Could it be done if we put a bar across say three trusses?

Edit: should have said, it's a 6m span and bottom timber of the truss is 3" x 1.5"

Very unwise. Make a tripod- 3 bits of scaff, 2 swivel clamps and steel wire rope to restrain the bottom of the legs.

a garage seldom has a 200kg water tank balanced on "6m span and bottom timber of the truss is 3" x 1.5""

Hang 65kg from one and see what happens.

If it fails there shouldnt be any repercussions from the loss of one truss.

Plan B - what are the walls made of?

My mate borrowed my acrow props and placed them either side of the car directly under the truss, guess you could do the same with some 4x4 fence posts
