Hi Folks,

First time having a series of leaks but didn't know where it was coming from until now. It's now dripping in our bedroom during rainfall. It's a 1930s terraced house with pitched roof and we don't have a clear valley where the water can flow, instead it's a tight fitting valley between me and my neighbor.

Had a roofer in, who was in a rush to leave after inspecting the job. He mentioned he would use pre-fabricated materials and when questioned about lead, he thought that wasn't needed. He quoted £550 plus VAT and can only give one year guarantee as his insurance company only give 1 year. Unable to get other roofers to give me a quote as they're busy and but I need to get the work done now due to the leaks.

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

Not sure what advice you expect to get here?

No one can give you a price estimate worth knowing without seeing the job.

You either need to get more quotes, accept the quote you’ve got, get up on the roof and fix it yourself, or maybe (if you have home emergency cover) call your home insurer and arrange a repair.
