Hi All,
I'm trying to find a builder to fix my roof which is leaking/getting damp around the chimney breast in my attic bedroom.
I've had a pretty reasonable quote from a local (ish) builder but they apparently won't be using scaffolding. Now this is a big bonus for me as I know the price of scaffolding would increase the quote considerably (Insurance won't cover the damage). What I mainly want to know... Is it meant to be a legal requirement to erect scaffolding when doing roof repairs?
The said builders seem to be slow timing a bit and I'm worried that the insurance will pull out of the internal damage problem if it doesn't get done soon. Will I be able to find another builder who will work without scaffolding or is it time to visit the bank manager?
Sorry for rambling! All answers appreciated (even if they're not the ones I want)
