room stat too slow ?

hi. gas central heating 's' plan. honeywell t6360b room stat..
my heating cuts in but seems to take too long .ie the room gets really cold before the heating starts up..any help..thanks

Are you able to check the wiring to the stat ,do you have a multimeter etc

Open the cover of the 'stat - which terminals are connected? Number 2 is important!

yep i've got a voltmeter.

as for the wires
blue wire in 2
yellow in 3 .
red in 1
plus earth.
4' 5' 6' free.
stat clicks at the right room temp..checked against a thermometer.just takes ages before heating starts ..have taken the head off sunvic heating valve and noted that sometimes its closed or open so im assuming that the valves are ok..
