Hiya can someone help me please.
I have a Baxi Boiler behind my Gas fire.
If it helps I have a 3 Amp fuse swith situ by the Fire side and a 13 Amp swith before the timer upstairs.
I have a 3 core red, black and earth.
Earth is an Earth as followed back to the spaghetti junction Unit by the pump etc and the Earth joins to many other Earths. ( this part was moved for me bysome very good electritians in 2005 )
Red and Black use 0 and 9 which to which number i didnt note....as i didnt know id be posting.
I have 2 thermostates ive purchased.
A Honeywell T6360B thermo that has an Earth screw then screws numbered 2,3,4,1 then 5,6, with no screws in.
I gave up on the Honeywell as i think i needed 4 core and instructions were awfull.
I have now purchased a Green Brook RT90-C1 that has 1,2,3,4, the black is now in 3 the earth in 2 and the red is in 1.
It calls for water and pump activates.
Can anyone confirm if this is ok?
It was sold to me upon my request for one to work with my wiring.
Im sure it has a heat plate thou and also a pin head light am i right in thinking these 2 won't work with out a neutral.
Is the Earth necessary? can it be used as a neutral if relocated at both ends?
Ive no way of running a new wire with out plastic boxing ( yuk)
PS I do prefer the Honeywell as it looks nicer so if any one has any idea's or preference between the 2 could you let me know.
Also the old one was taken off months ago to plaster and i have no reference to go by.
Thanks
