I want to use some ropetop edging I have to edge a gravel path (approx 60 feet).

To retain the gravel I need to have the edging held by on the side not held by the gravel as the path will be slightly higher than the ground next to it.

I'm guessing I need some kind of haunching but Im not sure what material to use.
I've seen mention of using a dry sand/cement mix so that the ropetop edging can be removed at a later date without damaging it?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
