I'm wanting to have a small retaining wall built between the garage and lawn with concrete slabs on top to walk along.
The wall will be approx 40ft long going from 1ft above ground to 2ft as garden has a slight slope.
I'm thinking concrete blocks would be the cheapest option?
Does anyone have any ideas on likely cost (West Yorkshire) before i get quotes

I've attached some photos of the concrete gravel boards which are currently there which were a temp measure 10+ years ago

Don't know prices in west yorks, but you will get a wildly different prices, if you get any quotes at all. .Just query whether concrete blocks look better than gravel boards, have you considered decking as an alternative?

Better just widening the existing slab - watch the height and make sure it falls away from the garage down the side. You could reuse the gravel boards as shuttering.

The ground is clay under the lawn and the gravel boards will start to fall away which is why we tried with breeze blocks to support them (dug into grass) - this hasn't helped much which is why I'm wanting a proper supporting wall.
The last house we had the previous owner made some nice walls in the garden with breeze block and when painted they looked quite smart

I was looking into having the drive covered in resin and getting the slab widened as well but the expense put me off. Having the slab widened i'm guessing will still need a retaining wall and the expense would be way more than just a couple of feet high wall with slabs
