Evening

I live in south yorkshire on a old pit estate _ AR LAD
Semi detached 3 bedroomed house

We've had a new roof and windows installed and now
are looking for replacement of all the guttering etc.
The roofer says that he can do it while the scaf is still up
but i don't think he's done guttering before, not that i'm saying
he can't do a good job, just that i don't want him to rip us off
with the price. I've never had a quote before for guttering
and was hoping for someone to give me a rough idea of how much it would cost. are we talking thousands or what

thanks for any help.

No, as you have scaffolding up it would be a lot easier and quicker, I could give you a guess on price but won't do because depending where you live etc so best to get 2 or 3 quotes.

The house is probably worth about 80k tops
area is pretty rough, just give me a rough idea please.

You'll be talking a few hundred not thousands. Your house value and the area doesn't make the slightest difference to the price. Depends on how much guttering though.

It's a simple job if the scaf is up. Just make sure that the drop on the guttering goes the right way - to the downpipe! The number of times I've seen gutters run the wrong way on brand new houses is amazing!

Dear Jonifresh, how much did it cost for A. your window relacements, what kind of windows and how many? B. what materials were used for your replacement roof and what was the cost?
Guttering usually involves RWP's and what state are your fascia's in?
For 115mm plastic half round i'd imagine ball-park figure of £350-450.

Nice one HandyJon and Tom
Thanks for that

I was told today that it could cost around a grand n half (gulp)
I've been to B&Q and got a rough price guide for the down pipe and 3 mtr
gutter, etc. It appears quite cheap so £350 - £500 would be a realistic price.
If the roofer quotes me a grand i will tell him to B**locks.

We had 14 windows and the front door replaced with white jorgeon PVC
Alll windows have the facility to be a fire escape and the door is well nice.
Total cost of £3500 on the side job.

New complete roof Rebuild felt beams Orange tiles and all that was £4300
It was in a real bad state as the rain had been leacking in for years

I forgot to mention that the fascia's are totally rotted too, so this would include in the cost for the job doing. Would this bumf up the prise.

Thanx

jonifresh, what do you mean by "felt beams and orange tiles"?
Are you saying that they supplied and fixed 14 no. DG PVC window frames and a door for £4300? Did this include making good inside and disposal of debris?
Rotten fascia should be removed. You can replace it with PVC fascia, although it's quite expensive but requires no painting. The fascias should really have been replaced when the roof was done, especially if scaffolding was in place, it will now be that much more difficult to fix new fascia.
I guess that your barge boards - if any - were seen to when the roof was replaced.
