Rubble in Garden (Ed.)

Hello everyone, recently moved into a dump of a house and the garden is a disaster, the previous person has basically dumped rumble everywhere, I want to put fake grass down, would I be better leveling it off and remove the rumble on the top or digging it over and levelling it off after. Thanks in advance

It depends what you mean by "disaster".

Excuse the bits, all waiting to go to the dump, she has basically dumped everything in that area, the rest of the garden is bits of rubble, the garden also slopes down

Do you own or is it a rental. I only ask as if you have bought the previous owner should remove all their rubbish. If its rented see if the landlord can help.

Remove all the rubbish, dig it and then lay your artificial turf. There is some prep needed between digging and laying fake grass though.

Looks like you have room to add some sharp sand to level everything off.
Rent a whacker plate and compact what you have there.
Get a jumbo bag of sharp sand, spread it all around, whack and level.
Then weed control membrane and artificial grass.
If you're not a confident diyer, let a professional do the levelling and grass laying.
