Hi there, please could you advise if running a combi boiler for only hot water with zero pressure for an extended period (4/5 weeks) could cause any damage to the boiler ? This was done whilst a few of the radiators were taken off the walls for decorating. Upon re-pressurizing the boiler after fixing the radiators back on the boiler developed a serious leak from the unit and had to be replaced - it was roughly 5/6 years old.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

depends a lot on the boiler some combi boilers don't mind that much. But also most boilers will shut down if low on pressure or overheat and cut off,
You might have to face the fact it was a fault waiting to happen. but running it with low pressure probably didn't help.
