At present the bath and sink wastes run into a knackered old hopper and down to the drains about 4' from the soil stack. I'd like to get rid of the old rusty hopper and rjoin the wastes up before connecting into the soil stack but can't readily lay my hands on any guidance material for this. Can anyone help? Am I right in saying I need to speak to my local building inspector too before I do it?

Many thanks.

Thanks Softus, there's much useful info there.

So, I think a strap on boss connector would be the eay to go to plumb the new waste pipe into the upvc plastic stack pipe. I'm sure I've read somewhere that there are rules/guidelines for how close to the wc connection the sink/bath waste can be connected and possibly at what angle etc. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Thanks again
