Evening all.
I have a BT guy comming out to install infinity tomorrow, however I just realised that there are a few issues:
1. The master socket is in the hall downstairs at the front of the house.
2. The room I want all the kit in is upstairs at the back of the house.
3. BT wont hide the cables they will only tack them to skirting boards.
Im planning on getting the extension kit (from what I gather just a 30m cat5 cable) left and installing it myself, however I need some advice before I do.
The house is new build (5-6 years old now) with what seems to be aluminium framed plasterboard walls upstairs (From the loft I can see the top of the walls and they are metal with pre-drilled holes - assume for cable)
Im fine with the general bits and could easily run a cable from the loft into the upstairs rooms right now... the issue is - how do I get down to the ground floor? Im hoping some one will have some ideas?
Im guessing that the only way would be to cut some of the wall out and drill up from the ground floor into the upstairs wall?
Its only one cable and Id rather not rip the house apart for it!
The guys that fitted the burglar alarm ran cables from the front all (near to the phone socket to the centre of the house and upstairs without leaving a mark so Im hoping that some one will tell me that there is an easy way to do this without taking up floors/cutting massive holes in walls!
Finally if there is anyone in the PR25 area that could do this (or can recommend someone who can Im willing to pay to get this done!)
