We have a 54 plate Peugeot 307 SW Diesel. It ran out of fuel (or at least we think that was the problem) last night. Whilst driving the 'anti-pollution failure' light came on then the engine cut out. We've now filled it up with diesel and its running fine again, but the 'anti-pollution' light is still on.

Does anyone have any experience of this - is it a result of running out of fuel and if so, do we need to reset something to get rid of the fault light. Or could this be a genuine problem/fault with the car?

you might be able to reset it by disconecting the battery for a few minutes(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL CODES)or it could be a dealer visit.

Thanks for the reply gregers- as it happens, leave the car overnight sorted the problem - running fine and no warning lights now.

Why do they put these 'gadgets' in cars that tell you how many miles are left in the tank?? Are we too stupid these days to think when the needle gets low on the fuel gauge to put more fuel in. The missus said that just before the car ran out of fuel the display was reading 37miles to go - she was on the way to the petrol station which is 3miles from home!!
