I found the steam and spray buttons were jammed but it was a relatively easy fix.

Always fix plastic coverings in a warm room. DO NOT turn the iron upside down during this process as, unless you have emptied the water, you will wet the floor BUT, more importantly, there are two very small steel ball bearings at the foot of the plungers.

Ease out the buttons from the rear of the machine. They only fit one way.

This will reveal 2 philips screws and take them out. Then open the flap for the water input. At the front of this opening you should find a rubber boot covering another Philips screw.

Having removed this screw it is time to get out your spudgers as down the sides of this covering there are 2 x 2 plastic spigots. Working from top down gently prise the cover out. I broke 3 out of the 4. To be honest they don't really matter as the screws hold everything in place.

This will reveal a white plastic retainer holding the two protusions for the spray buttons. Remove the screw and, using a pair of pliers, ease them up. You should find two rubber washers with some foam below. This should release the two springs. Both plungers, washers are different sizes, which makes it easier to replace.

I then put some vaseline around the rubber and foam washers and made sure they could move up and down.

Then just replace everything. The fiddly bit is getting the sliding adjuster back in place. You should see two spigots, one each side, which locate the plunger on a rail.
The next fiddly bit is replacing the buttons. You should see a clip at the front and this needs to be pushed down at a steep angle to locate a hole of the water cover. Then you need to match up the two plungers with the holes in the buttons.

Good luck
