Hi. Painting the exterior wood on the gable the first thing to go is the the bleed through of rust stains which forces me to repaint sooner than I would like so I am looking at solutions.
Taking the rust out is not so easy as it sounds as screw heads often sheer off or cannot be turned with screwdriver, and even if you get the surface iron out, it can still bleed through from an inch below the surface.
Last time I tried Zinseer Bullseye and Zinseer Latex primer and also an expensive Dulux undercoat/primer. All of which were okay lasting about 7yrs (here in Brighton), but I am thinking that some kind of epoxy paint might be permanent?
Any recommendations?
Cheers
