I know this has been asked before but didn’t hear the resolution. My house render has rust spots - builder says it was impurities in the sand but won’t stand over it.
Painter isn’t keen on doing the job as he feels it will just bleed through again.
Any product recommendations welcome!! Thanks
Yes it is iron deposits in the render material, seldom notices too much on unpainted pebble dash as the base colour is brown but shows through badly on paint.
If you have small areas you can get away with spot priming but if it is widespread it will mean a lot of expensive paint to cover it.
One of the best product ranges on the.market is Zinsser.
Have a look at their website. https://www.zinsseruk.com/howto/paint-rust-stained-surfaces/
