Hi all,

Hoping someone can help.

I'm getting conflicting messages about issues I have with my boiler. The pressure gauge reads 0.4 and the red light comes on and stays on after minimal use and I have to reset the boiler (Turning it off and back on again).

I have zero experience/knowledge of plumbing but do know that in order to repressurise the system I have to turn a knob. There is a yellow option which is similar to a stop cock in style and a black square knob. I have tried turning both of these but no prevail. My instruction manual advises that if red light is on and pressure is 0.4 or under then this should fix the problem.

I'd rather try here than call a heating engineer out. Any ideas help would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

Barry

Do you have the Manufacturers Instructions and have you read them?
There would be comprehensive instructions contained to show you how to recharge your boiler. View media item 35799You may have a filling loop similar to this below your boiler or in an adjacent cupboard.

45yearsagasman many thanks for this.

The cupboard the boiler is in has 2 shelves in it under the boiler itself, on the lower shelf once I removed all the bed lined I could see the bit I was after. All my previous boilers this part has been directly beneath the boiler itself, many many thanks for this.

I have repressurised the system, fingers crossed thats it fixed.

Again many thanks for your help, greatly appreciated.

This is the longest we have gone without the red light coming on and we have used hot water several times today.

No need for rads on as its been toasty today, but looks like I will give them a blast tomorrow, rain on the way

Thanks again

Turns out I was wrong!!

Red light coming back on when heating has been running for about 20 minutes.

Any ideas what I can try next anyone?
