I need to buy a flaring tool to make a new section of brake pipe on my 2004 Scudo 2.0 Jtd van. I want to get the tool before I break into the line, so I have the tool ready to do the job. Which flaring tool will I need, SAE or DIN?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have a look at this, it shows the difference between the two types. The DIN flare is the one on the right. And, if you have DINs which you probably do, you must use the shoulder nuts as shown in the picture.

This job could really do your head in....take a tip and try to undo the brake pipe unions before going any further - you may find they simply won't undo and you'll end up replacing more than you'd ever imagined.
A motor factor will produce the exact length of cupro nickel pipe, with the correct ends very cheaply if you take the old pipe in.
John :)
