OK, one last one before bed time...

Seeing as though this country is safety mad, how come gas uses the same size copper pipes as water, surely this could cause problems???

As far as I know there is no requirement to label piping in any way?

It's not just the same size: same pipes, same fittings.

Yes it is daft. Although there are no exposed gas pipes in my place, they are all sit in the floor screed. Does this make it safer, or just harder to fix after drilling them?

I am wondering now, WHY do we use the same pipes for both? To quote the Scottish Watchdog presenter of the 1980s, "It's a potential deathtraaaaaaap".

Because Plumbers and Gas fitters have more nouse than ....... wirepullers I suppose.

Now I understand why my bath taps only hiss at me when I turn them on and my gas fire looks like a decorative water fountain!!
