Guys,

Were about to move into a new house that has some sagging celings.

The house was built in 1955 and from looking at them and the lines where it is sagging it looks like plasterboard style as the lines are stright where they sag (if you get my drift)

Does the whol ceiling need replaced? Can someone just cut the bad area out, patch in replacement plasterboard and then skim over the top?

Cheers

Yes the affected aeras can be removed ,new board cut in and skimmed .If ya sure its just on the joins you can try just screwing back the boards to the joists ,back in the 50`s it was popular to nail the boards on ,screws are much better in holding up the boards , if so screw every six inches .
