The micro switch in the head has stuck closed, as a temporary measure I have disconnected the orange wire which now means I have some time to arrange for a replacement. It runs the domestic hot water which is also heated with a solar panel so no great rush but really want it fixed by Spring.

The valve I would guess is quite old, I have found them listed but the picture looks very different to that shown, so question is will the head off new valve fit the old one, and can I buy the head without buying whole valve?

It's a standard 2 port, spring return motorised valve for 22mm pipe. You can replace it with an entire new valve from any manufacturer. Honeywell, Drayton, Danfoss, Flomaster, etc., In the same way you can fit Dunlop, Continental, Hankook etc., tyres to your car.

Someone else may be able to advise you if you can just exchange the actuator, but I generally change the whole valve, if the actuator is old, so is the valve part.

If the valve is stuck closed the orange wire should be disconnected internally by the valve's microswitch anyway.

I know whole valve can be replaced with any make, but I have a mauled hand so not by me. So if whole valve needs replacing need to get some one in, if just head then I can do it.
