Samsung Smart TV

Recently purchased Samsung Smart TV. Also purchased new Belkin router. On the TV's network setting it indicates connection to the internet is OK. However on Smart hub cannot get BBC Iplayer, Web browser, Skype or indeed anything on the Smart hub.

Initially I did manage to get on to the web browser but not any more. Also did manage to get on Skype but when username was typed in was told that this name already existed and was provided with another one. Do not want two skype names.

On the occasions we managed to connect with BBC Player, etc we were using an old router. It is since replacing it with a Belkin that the problems have started.

Any assistance would be appreciated but please do not make it too technical. Simple language would be wonderful.

As regards Skype, you were clearly trying to register a new account instead of simply logging in.

You haven't stated why you swapped your (unknown) "old router" for a Belkin (unknown model). Why not simply swap it back?

The Smart Hub shows all the apps and it is on this page that you connect to the web browser, Iplayer and all the rest.

Our previous router Trendnet was very old and we had problems with it. The Belkin.B10 is just another make of router.

I had a similar problem recently, and solved it by updating the TV's firmware, as it probably has an outdated one that goes back to the date of manufacture.

If there is connection between router and tv the tv should detect an update. What model is it?
