sandblasting stonewall

Got and internal sandstone wall i d like to have it restored and exposed.

I have been advised to use a low pressure sandblast but it needs repointing as the lime morter is perished.

My question is when sould i blast the wall?? before repointing or after ??

my guess is before mate ,that way you can replace the perished morter you sandblasted out.

Sandblasting will remove the lime anyway. Internal blasting is a bind, look up soda blasting, which is cleaner and less agressive on Cheshire stone (Is it red or sand coloured?) also good examples on C4 Restoration man web last weeks episode www.channel4.com/restoration-man/coach-house-services-and-suppliers-10-04-30_p_5.html
