People,

Last week I applied a mist coat to a ceiling that had been previously skim coated.

This morning I lightly sanded the ceiling and then wiped down with a damp cloth. This certainly gave a smoother finish to the mist coat prior to painting than prior to sanding.

Please advise if a better finish is obtained sanding down between coats or not.

I don't know whether I am wasting my time sanding down between coats?

Cheers

Paul

On the provision that your emulsion has been applied correctly, there is no need to sand.
