Hey Everyone,

I have some old doors that need Belt sanding down to get the colour right. Have had a look at belt sanders and there are loads of different belt sizes and Watts and Voltages. Just wondered which is the best one to get for the size of an average door?

I needed a sander, planer & SDS breaker for renovations I’m doing here. In the end, I bought the cheapest I could find & got all 3 for less than £80. They are still going strong after various sanding/planning jobs, finishing/fitting all the new doors, demolishing a couple of walls & digging a few holes for drains etc. With the belt sander & planer, I just looked for the ones with the biggest motor that used readily available (& therefore cheapest) belts & cutters.

Chances are tools like this will be sitting on the shelf in your garage for the next 20 years after you’ve used them for the immediate job in hand so unless you plan to use them regularly or professionally, the budget stuff works just as well.
