Everything I have seen posted by a plumber say these things are as good as the stuff they pump! Whats the real deal? What experience do you have of dealing with these pumps.
  • Can they be put on a bigger bore discharge pipe?
How can they be fixed when some throws the wrong thing down one?
Do Saniflo have a warranty service that backs up their amazing claims?
From 4'' pipe down to 22mm pipe...surely not?

not being a plumber but from what i have read on here

4 inch to 22mm pipe easy, it chops everything up, but that is part of its prblem, if anything stringy, i.e long hair gets in in tangles the blades and the motor doesnt have enough torque to rip it.
fixing is easy, open the lid, get covered in s**t and remove what the blockage is.

you get covered in what ever becuse its still in the outlet pipe, they probably do have a back up, and probably a clause that says its invalid if a forein object goes in i.e hair

inshort dont touch one, oh they also dont work in a power cut

From memory

1) Saniflow recommend 22mm pipework
2) Strip them down and extract the offending item - if you are lucky it stays between the pan and the strainer before entering the macerating chamber
3) Saniflow warranty does exactly what it says on the tin - providing you do exactly what they say on the pan
4) Yep - if you shred it up then it's quite small !!

I have fitted a few in circumstances where there has been no other cost effective options but have always made sure that the stickers provided by Saniflow are prominently displayed and ensure that the client understands what they have and how to treat it.

I have also been called out to a few and now avoid this like the plague - I refer callers to Saniflow and there service agents.

i have to ask, have you ever opened one and got covered in ......

As we all know plumbing sooner or later leads to toilet jobs, but huge amounts of pulverized poo is not my strongest point! Was thinking if I put it in, customer would call me first if they want help.
Can you get a Saniflo that is easy to take apart for the man of the house? I would show him this drill before first use of course ;)

They stink & the room you have them in will also stink. They suck big time. Did I say that they stink :?:

i have been to places where they have them , to actualy use the toilet, never noticed a smell

Do I like them?

No.

Have I fitted them?

Yes.

Did I want to?

No.

Have I had one detach its lid whilst I was kneeling over it?

Yes.

Was it funny?

After I had a shower.

In conclusion, fit them if you must - work on them at your peril. Imagine working for their service team? Almost as bad as being a warranty guy for Baxi.

Forget the 22mm and fit 1&1/4 solvent waste pipe like i do and you won't get so many problems :?:
Saniflow give a 2year guarantee so what more do you want

Posted before on these abominations ,Invented by bealzebub himself and should only be fitted in hell.Avoid Avoid hate the blasted things always full o $h(t when you get called out usally fermented .

I think the customer must be made aware before starting I shall not return to service the device and they must phone Saniflo!
I know plumbing involves sanitary ware and this must be accounted for but something that gives waste the opportunity to putrefy even further is bad news... :(
Maybe better off using a camping chemical toilet that neutralizes the waste, save plumbing and electrical work??

anyone got a pic of inside one? (new of course) i often wonder what the "teeth" are like

The non poo ones give bovver too, like the Sanivite used on showers, washing machines etc. Have known a few flood the floor.
Best avoided, sometimes worth the hassle of a leak once in several years.
