Hi,

I have a Santon Premier tp150b tank which has been installed for 9 years. It worked well for about the first 2 years and still works well when asked to heat the central heating and hot water together.

However it doesn't heat water whilst on the hot water only cycle. Over the years we have had several plumbers around who have changed valves and fitted automatic air vents on the pipes. We have also had Worcester around to check the boiler and electricians to check the wiring to the control panel but no joy.

We have been living with it by switching on the back-up immersion heater overnight during the summer months (as I say, it works well when the heating is on so the other months are taken care of).

Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks (am losing the will...)

Is this a standard santon unvented indirect cylinder?

If so it will be a wiring problem or a zone valve problem

Thanks for your response Dave. It's definately standard and unvented, not sure about the indirect part...

I presume I'd need a Santon electrical bod to sort that out? do you know if it can be looked at without taking it all out of situ?

Cheers,

Pete

Shouldn't be any reason that the wiring can't be checked and fixed if needed whilst all is left in place.

You don't need Santon in to do it, just a good local heating engineer, or sparks who fully understands heating circuits.
