Ona house rewire my mate says to run satalite cable to each room but to keep it away from other cables when running out because of interference and also building regs
Is this correct and does anyone have any general advice like minimum distances from other cables please

If you are running satellite to all rooms, may as well run some ethernet with it - 2 ethernet cables can be used for HDMI distribution. Having network points around can be very handy generally as well.....

may as well put in Cat6 as 1 gigabit is fast becoming the normal for networking. Fibre broadband wont be far behind...and it would be a pain to have to do it all again.

I was tempted, but the price of quality CAT6 was so much more I couldn't justify it. That was 18 months ago though.

Put the best you can in I suppose, CAT6e even?

And CAT5e is certified for 1GB, so its going to be around for a good while yet, a lot of businesses still only run 100mb to the desktop :)

What sort of kit / set up is needed to stream HD over Cat 6?
Are we talking servers into the tens of thousands or is there more affordable stuff on the market now?
