tried to start the heating for the first time after the summer ,boiler starts and then shuts off after 10 seconds.if i switch the power off and then back on again it sometime tries to start the heating up then thinks better of it and shuts off.no problems with the hot water though.

the suanier duval can be a git ot fault find. Putting my head of the wall here 9as all the boyos will be on and id the fault right away) and say sorry mate you are going to have to get an engineer in

Obvous place to focus on would be the diverter valve though I'm not familiar with it. You could call their tech help line - but its a PREMIUM rate number!!!

Far be it from me to dis agree with ChrisR but I strongly advise against that as it will be nescessary to strip the boiler down and we all know what GAS SAFETY(INSTALLATION AND USE) 98 has to say about that dont we
