Hi guys, thought maybe you can help..
.. no after winter our summer switch seems not to be working. There is no hot water when it is on summer and the only thing how we can switch it on is to move it to winter what switch on heating as well.. really annoying that after winter the gas bill still comes massive as some people forgets to move it back to summer and heating stays on.
i tried to restart it and switch off and on again it didint work.. maybe you have some suggestions?

thanks a lot

water valve needs replacing. if you put the switch in the middle, you'll prob find it works .

Better solution to replace the boiler.

These were probably one of the worst boilers ever manufactured.

but I dont really need to carry on saying that because they have now stopped selling them! Thank goodness!

to repair yes, in terms of reliability no. Not a totally unreliable boiler, just an engineers nightmare, once you start touching it. The water valve however, is pretty straightforward repair. Its about 30-45mins work and a £30 part. I would repair it.

What would the total bill be then?

£1250.00

I did replace a water section once as the boiler was only two years old.

In that case I was also doing it so that a trainee could get the experience and it took us 2 hours. But we did it very slowly and carefully as all training jobs.

Luckily it did not leak and all worked fine. I have managed not to do any others since. Its the risk of further leaks which the customer expects me to fix for free.
