Has anybody been successful with cutting through a 22 mm copper pipe with a wire saw? (It's not possible to use a conventional pipe cutter or the blade of a junior hacksaw due to the position of the pipe).

Any past experiences of such matters would be much appreciated.

I tried a wire saw on copper pipe - hopeless, it just rides along , scratching it a lot and not going through. Even starting with a cut, not much good at all.

If access is that bad you'll have a job doing anything with the pipe afterwards??

Expensive just for one pipe but if you are an avid DIYer: Bosch multitool - now £60 ish from B&Q may work

Not tried it but advertising blurb shows it cutting difficult to access copper pipe.

The Bosch Multi is the Dogs ********, get one, I bought mine a few months ago and have used it countless times on numerous different jobs!

As Goldspoon said, if your are into DIY you will not regret getting one!

If access is really tight, cut of with the multitool, and use a neadle file to debur any rough edges....

Can you not get a pipe slice in there ? £6 ish
