having tasted morrisons low fat cheese, i think it is actually made from recycled morrisons carrier bags, ..it tastes of plastic ,
guess thats why it doesnt go mouldy.

If it's vacuum wrapped how could bacteria reach it?

If it has been handled correctly before packing and refrigerated properly afterwards, it should not start growing, even after the sell by.

Once you open it, you introduce bacteria to it. Leaving it unrefrigerated will allow bacteria to multiply much faster than if it was stored properly.

yes i fully understand the bacteria bit
i dont go by sell by or best before i use common sense along with my nose mouth and eyes

if the cheese is mouldy i cut 3mm off

What makes me laugh is folk who cut the rind off brie... ;)

The dates are well within a safety margin to protect the supermarket from people claiming food poisoning etc.

If you do get ill then the supermarket will just tell you serves you right for not following their advice.

Why not get a camera on it and download a time lapse of it, eventually moulding, or not.
