Scaffolding erected for neigbours is supported by our wall, but is this likely to cause damage?

Neighbours are getting work done to their gutters and roof, but the scaffolders have drilled 2 small bits of wood into out brick wall to support this.
The ground is softer on the side closest to our wall too.

Does this look like it could cause damage to our wall and, is so, how bad could it get?

I'm thinking that's potentially a lot of weight being supported and possible movement impacted (from work being done) by just 2 points of contact.

Does this look like its being erected ok and/or am I over thinking this?

Anything I can suggest to neighbour/builders before the work starts to mitigate any damage?

Thanks

Cant see why they would drill a hole, its just used to laterally brace the tower, and adjusted for tension through tne clamp.

Thanks for you reply.

I'm not sure either, but aside from the holes could the way they've set it up potentially put too much force on the wall and risk damaging it, especially structurally?

Thank Andy.
Do you think I should ask them to keep the wooden posts on the wall after they are finished, or maybe try to keep the screws they've put in on the wall to avoid damaging the brickwork?

EDIT: just took a closer look and it looks like they've used at least 2 screws per wooden post so potentially bigger chance of damage to brickwork if/when they get removed?

As they didn’t ask, I’d demand that the bricks they’ve damaged be replaced. Have they drilled into the brick or just the mortar course?

But not by them; they've already proven the level of care they apply to their clients' neighbours

There would have been no significant difference had they instead fixed the wood to the end of their pole

I can not see any screws, its too small to see aside from that they should of asked your permission to use your wall to brace.

Is it possible that the screws you see are just short screws through the scaffold foot into their bit of wood behind it? They may have screwed it on first before placing it against your wall. If so then it's a considerate thing to do, much better than bare metal alone.

Definitely should have had your consent first. But probably not worth falling out with the neighbours about.

I note that they haven't touched the neighbour's wall at all. Pretty terrible of them if they only needed support at one side and chose yours over marking their own.

Looks to me as if they are just bracing the tower against your wall to stop it toppling over, it will be fine but they should have asked first. The wood is actually protecting your wall from being marked.
