scaffolding furniture questions

I'm just wondering if anyone can help...

I've got to build a scaffold work bench for a friend who wants an industrial feel... hence the scaffold idea, has anyone done any of this?

Just wondering if they had any tips or horror stories? brands to avoid maybe?

proper scaffold might be a bit overbearing in a small room?
I have used Keyclamp quite a bit but in large spaces.
You can buy smaller versions like 27mm (scaffold is 48mm)
you could make it, then take it apart and then get the tube powder coated?
Aluminium tube will leave your hands very black with use

Yes I was definately after something sammler that fully size tubes and fittings...

Kee clamp. I second the use of 28mm tube.

There was a thread on here where someone built his own extension and then made a table out of scaffolding, it looked very good. Trouble is I cant remember who it was.
