scale reducers for combi's?

Hello plumbing whizzkids, I've just had an Intergas 36 installed with a magnaclean and an inline scale reducer magnet thing.....................BUT...................do those magnet things actually work???

I've been looking at the additive despenser that fits on the main water feed.

We suffer from hard water, especially the 1/4 turn taps seizing up.

No I don't believe they do, but I will always instal one to protect myself. On the other hand I get very few if any come backs to any of my Installs
