Hi can you help please?
I have the above system put in about 15 years ago by a family run company APT, I had good service with the odd problem quickly sorted.

They have been taken over by a larger firm that seems to be gobbling up small companies in the South East, a door sensor broke "cant get that now obsolete".

I had the service done this week, now three faults on the system. Went through to a call centre, engineer called back later, "oh yes looks like a fault, ring again Monday" Not impressed.

Is it not possible to programme in a later door sensor to an existing system?

Now thinking about scrapping the contract and system to go DIY at least I will know problems will get fixed promptly. ;)
Loath to go with another company for a system only to find they get taken over by this faceless company.

Do you think they are having me on about spares?

What DIY system might be suitable.
I did put a Yale one in a property I used to own and it was fine apart from having to access the bell box to change batteries, I thought I might fit a remote battery box in the eves cupboard to overcome this.

Thank you(y)

Post photo of door contact.
If you are on a maintenance contract then company should deal with problem ASAP, usually within 4hrs.
If not on contract then next working day to sort.
Most wired alarm systems can be fixed with various makes of equipment eg door contact and pirs.
Would not recommend Yale, Ring etc.
Phone around different installer's and ask if there engineers can work on scantronic equipment.

Thank you for your reply.
Pic attached, the top cover retaining clip broke it has a bit of tape holding it on.;)

Plastic cases breakdown over the years and become brittle. My bet engineer broke casecehen charging battery? or didn't know how to remove cover !

You could buy and just swap the plastic case, this will save any programming.
Yes seems the best way to go, shame is I used to know the engineers code, but this lot have changed it, but it will only take a couple of mins to swap so not a problem.(y)
