Having a clear out, I took three old combi's to the scrap metal merchants in Southampton. By the time I got weighed on and off the weigh bridge and farted about loading, unloading and collecting my money......... £4.30. 
obviously it was not worth the effort. I was surprised how little I got considering the weight and the brass/copper content etc.
There sure is money to be made in scrap, if you had the time to separate all bits.
