I have replaced a 14 year Electrolux fridge freezer as it only seemed to reach at best -10, but mainly stayed at -5 in the freezer the last couple of years due to our very cold kitchen in bad winters. We now have a radiator installed. Also, it was uneconomical to run despite having a savaplug on it when I first bought it. Tried everything to no avail so getting rid.

It works ok if you just need it to chill things and not too deep freeze. I would rather give it away to someone who could make use of it as its a decent make but not sure if anyone would want it. We have rag and bone men coming round on a daily basis but I feel reluctant to give it to them.

Is it worth me scrapping it myself if I got a man and a van to run me to the scrap dealer or isnt it worth much ?

Thanks.

I don't think scrap merchants will take fridges/freezers without them being de-gassed & the paperwork to prove it. Your local council should have a center where you can dispose of it or even a collection service for a fee.
