A bloke did my kitchen but the hot water was dribbling out so he advised me to get a pump. He fitted this under the kitchen sink and it is used only for the hot water. Every time I use the hot tap, it screams! Not constantly but for a lot of the time. I have told the bloke who fit it and he said it is a bearing and to take it back to the shop. What do you think?

Th efittings are ones where you pull it off so he says i can do it myself

I am not that up on pumps to boost hot water but I would think that if there isn't enough water to sart with the pump is going to hunt and keep getting air, if your hot water pressure was adequate before your new kitchen was fitted it sounds like he has either got dirt in somewhere, kinked a pipe, left an air lock or fitted wrong type of taps which are for mains pressure only, if it was ok before, MAKE HIM come back and do the sorting, you paid him didn't you.

I agree, except any pump should be enough for a new high pressure tape. If the pump can be isolated, take the inlet HW supply off and try opening the isolating valve into a bucket or washing up bowl. My guess is that, after a second or two of decent supply, it will taper off. At this point go back to your plumber and tell him to rectify the original problem. In addition, you have probably invalidated the warrenty on your new pump.
