Does anyone have any ideas how i can get this off?

Left it in water to keep it soft

If it’s soft remove it .
I meant to say that the screed has been kept in water to keep the material wet and hopefully prevent the cement from curing

However, the screed is rock solid and stuck to the steel bath.

I get some success in using my nails to scrape smaller areas. However, larger areas are too difficult.

the only thing left is to use vinegar/citric acid to dissolve the cenent, will need agitating to dislodge sand particles as they become exposed. as you discovered setting does continue even underwater if there are enough solids around the cement

In case anyone gets in the same predicament, the following effectively worked for me

1. Fill tub with warm/hot water in order to 'soak' the screed/cement

2. After about 30 mins, use wet vac to remove water from bath. Never let the screed/ cement water go down the drain

3. Get a rubber mallet and vigorously bang the screed. This will loosen/detach the screed from tub

4. Fill tub again with warm water to cover screed

5. Use decorators filling tool to get to edge/under the screen, then hit the filling tool with a rubber mallet and the screed will come away from the bath. Be gentle with this step and make sure you do not scrape the bath. Keep filling tool at an flattish angle

6. Use wet vac to remove screed water

7. Repeat steps 3,4,5 and 6 until all of the screed has detached from the bath.

Probably doesn’t own a bucket .
I'm a lot of things... stubborn, sarcastic, a neanderthal.. However, I am NOT a complete amateur  ,

I own many a bucket (black, plasterers, flexi tub)..

@freddiemercurystwin I got in this situation because the only room in the property with water was the bathroom.

I placed the flexi tub in the bath, then added screed/water and mixed. While tipping the screed/ pouring water/ mixing etc, I inevitably got some into the bath.

I thought, 'I'd deal with the bath later, just finish levelling the floor'... Big mistake!

Lesson learnt. Don't mix in the bath... However, if you have to, deal with screed that comes in contact with the bath immediately

brick acid will dissolve the cement that binds it together, but you seem to have got past that now.

is brick acid (i.e. hydrochloric acid), 'safe' in a steel bath tub?

the enamel, being a glass based covering, will not be attacked.

Likely to take the chrome off the bath plug surround though.

hopefully prevent the cement from curing
That was the root cause of the problem; a misunderstanding that cement goes hard because it dries out.

Cement grows crystals internally in the presence of water, which is what locks the structure together, making it harden. In other words, cement will set even when completely submerged; it's a chemical reaction that can only be slowed by retardant additives or very low temperatures
