What did your local PC company say?
Possibly replace the motherboard.
You haven't told us much about the machine, so it's difficult to advise. Post back with the machine age & specification and the O/S you are using.
In the mean time,
I would run some housekeeping tasks on the hard drive first to clear off any temporary files that may have accumulated. It might be worth checking the level of fragmentation on the drive.
Next I would run a thorough scandisk to check for and repair any errors. If this proves to be inconclusive, I would download and run the hard disk manufacturer diagnostics, which are available (in most cases) from their website.
However, any repair shop worth their salt would have already performed and eliminated the above. Did they give you a report of what they actually did?
From the information you have provided, it doesn't sound like a motherboard fault, but as I haven't seen the state of the machine...
THE PC IS A MEDION THE O/S IS WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION PROCSSOR IS AMD ATHLON 3600 PROCESSOR NVIDA G-FORCES FX CARD I HAVE TRIED A LOT OF WHAT YOU HAVE SUGGESTED. THE PC IS 3 YRS OLD. THANK YOU
